Kyle Blanks appears to be returning to the NL West.
The seven-year MLB veteran and former San Diego Padre is reportedly close to finalizing a minor league deal with the Giants.

The 29-year-old Blanks spent 2015 in the Rangers organization. He played in 18 games for Texas, and batted .313/.352/.522 with three home runs and six RBI. He underwent surgery on both Achilles in September.
After being drafted by the Padres in the 42nd round of the 2004 MLB Draft, he made his debut with San Diego in 2009.
