Report: Giants bring back Chris Heston for rotation depth

The Giants are bringing back a pitcher who threw a no-hitter for them before his career fizzled, and he wound up with an American League West team. And it’s not Tim Lincecum.

Chris Heston, who provided the Giants with solid results from the back end of their rotation in 2015, signed a minor-league contract with San Francisco, according to NBC Sports Bay Area.

The 29-year-old right-hander was a revelation for San Francisco while going 12-11 with a 3.95 ERA in 2015. Heston’s career highlight came on June 9, 2015 when he no-hit the Mets in New York.
