SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A day before position players report to camp, the Giants have added yet another one.
The club is finalizing a minor league deal with veteran outfielder Cameron Maybin, according to The Athletic. Maybin, 31, would be the second outfielder with big league experience to join the mix this week. The Giants signed Gerardo Parra earlier in the week, and also added Yangervis Solarte, Stephen Vogt and Rene Rivera in recent days.
Maybin joins an outfield competition short on big league experience. The Giants have been looking for a right-handed complement to Steven Duggar and Maybin could be a fit there, albeit an imperfect one.
