For years Major League Baseball's Hit King, Pete Rose, stuck to one story and one story only: He only bet on baseball as a manager.
The illegal act according to MLB's rules has kept him banned from baseball since Aug. of 1989 despite the fact that he totaled 4,256 hits over 24 seasons. Rose, who is currently appealing his ban from the game with MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, may soon have a much harder case to plead.
New documents of an old notebook show that Rose reportedly bet on baseball in games he played in for the Cincinnati Reds, during the 1986 season, which would be the last of his career at 45 years old.
