SAN FRANCISCO–Since taking over as the Milwaukee Brewers general manager, David Stearns has quickly established himself as one of the brightest minds in baseball.
Stearns has turned the Brewers into a World Series contender this season, but he won’t be constructing a similar turnaround for the San Francisco Giants. According to a report from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the Giants were denied permission to speak with Stearns about becoming the franchise’s president of baseball operations.
Stearns, 33, assumed his role as Milwaukee’s general manager in 2015 and constructed a roster that won 96 games this season.
