It’s been said that Kenny Stabler wouldn’t fit into today’s NFL, that he’d be a victim of his limited size and movement, that there are just too many great athletes running around on defense and he’d be buried in the avalanche.
What nonsense. What an insult to the man who died Wednesday at the age of 69 and left thousands of Raiders fans in mourning. So there’s no room for a genius-level quarterback who performed with such accuracy and courage under pressure? Colin Kaepernick has maybe 10 percent of Stabler’s instincts, field presence and the ability to find receivers.
