Perhaps buried behind the Giants’ rash of wins is the emergence of backup infielder Ramiro Peña .
In six games (three starts) since his contract was purchased June 10 from Triple-A Sacramento, Peña is batting .471 (8-for-17) with four RBIs and two runs. He recorded two hits in each of San Francisco’s three wins at Pittsburgh.
“I feel good right now,” Peña said. “I feel really like I’m concentrating in the games. I’m really locked in, and I’m getting good results.”
Much of the past seven years, Peña has ping-ponged between the majors and minors.
