Posey leaves Giants-Yankees game with contusion on right foot

NEW YORK -- Giants catcher Buster Posey left Friday night's game in the fourth inning, but X-rays on his injured right foot ruled out a fracture.

Posey was diagnosed with a contusion stemming from the foul off his right foot during a plate appearance against the Yankees' Masahiro Tanaka in the second inning. Posey walked it off, then drew a bases on balls and spent the remainder of the inning on the basepaths. Posey also singled in the fourth and was stranded at third when Gregor Blanco struck out with the bases loaded.Catcher Trevor Brown replaced Posey behind the plate in the bottom of the fourth.
