GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi stood in the team’s Scottsdale Stadium dugout on Thursday afternoon and spoke confidently of the club’s starting pitching.
After San Francisco’s rotation was ravaged by injuries in 2018, a deep collection of potential starters has emerged this spring.
“We’ve talked about the need to get to eight or nine or 10 guys to get through the 162-game season,” Zaidi said during an interview with reporters. “We really feel like we’ve been able to lengthen out our starting pitching depth in a way that should serve us well during the year.
