SAN FRANCISCO -- Manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday the Giants are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to Hunter Pence's return from the disabled list.
Bochy said Pence, who underwent surgery on his right hamstring June 9, will begin a Minor League rehabilitation assignment in about a week and could be available for the Giants' first homestand following the All-Star break starting July 25.
On July 2, Pence took part in batting practice for the first time since having surgery and is experiencing progress as far as running, too.
