PHILADELPHIA -- Left wrist tendinitis is keeping Hunter Pence out of the lineup in his return to Philadelphia.
Pence said he felt some discomfort in his arm before this week's series against the Pittsburgh Pirates but the pain got worse after he made a diving catch that robbed Andrew McCutchen of extra bases on Monday night. He played the next day and said the pain got "exponentially worse" during Tuesday's game. The tendinitis is in the same area as the forearm fracture that kept Pence out for the first 36 games but he said X-rays and an MRI showed that the bone is fine.
