SAN FRANCISCO -- Injured Giants right-hander Jake Peavy threw off the mound Saturday for the first time since April 17. Peavy has been working through back problems since missing a scheduled start April 7, but said he didn't feel any discomfort during the bullpen session at AT&T Park.
"It's hard when you haven't been on the mound in a little bit," Peavy said. "You get on the mound and you want to be sharp, get things done. The biggest thing was to just see how my body felt. Felt quite a bit better. Still got a ways to go, but I think we're heading in the right direction.
