WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The River Cats closed off their penultimate series of 2015, falling to the Reno Aces 9-5 at Raley Field. San Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik made his first rehab appearance with the River Cats on the same night that Sacramento dropped their 72nd game, dashing their hopes at PCL history.
Panik flashed the leather for the River Cats Thursday, making a number of nice plays and showing strong range at second base. With one on and two outs in the third, Nick Buss hit a sharp ground ball to first. Keven Frandsen laid out for the ball, but it ricocheted off his glove and towards shallow right.
