Panik, who missed 34 games, simply felt thankful to be activated.
"I'm ready to go," he said.
Panik sounded aware that he must remain diligent physically -- honing his core strength and flexibility -- to forestall further back problems. "It's not going to be a chronic thing. I just have to listen to my body," Panik said, noting that he'll have a full offseason to address his physical maintenance.
Said Bochy, "He's aware of it now, which he wasn't last spring."
Panik praised Kelby Tomlinson's performance as his replacement: "He's done a good job over there.
