SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants right fielder Andrew McCutchen recorded the 1,500th hit of his career in the second inning of Monday night's game against the Cincinnati Reds.
McCutchen doubled and scored in the first inning then doubled again in the second, driving in Gregor Blanco to put the Giants ahead 4-1.
The five-time All-Star went into the game hitting .254 and is one of two players in the Major Leagues to have six hits in one game this season. Teammate Evan Longoria recorded his 1,500th career hit May 5 in Atlanta.
