It was the blog read around the Bay Area: Citing sources close to Giants ownership and Aaron Judge, NJ.com Yankees reporter Randy Miller laid out his case that Judge would leave New York and come home to Northern California this winter. On the Judge side of things, Miller wrote that the slugger was annoyed that the Yankees announced the terms of the extension he rejected this spring, and stung by the supposedly extreme abuse several teammates took from fans this season. On the Giants side, most tantalizingly, he reported that ownership had declared it would not be outbid for Judge.
