The San Francisco Giants’ reported $300 million offer for Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been greatly exaggerated, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
The Worldwide Leader’s MLB insider came out with a story about the overseas phenom on Monday that offers insight into things like Yamamoto’s travel-friendly workout regimen and the hype surrounding the 25-year-old. It also noted that any news involving contract figures should not be taken as gospel.
“Recently, multiple reports suggested teams already had offered Yamamoto deals in excess of $300 million. Those reports, sources said, are inaccurate,” Passan wrote.
