We’re probably still two-plus weeks away from many big moves being made in Major League Baseball, but some dominos have started to fall. On Sunday, it was reported that right-handed pitcher Aaron Nola — viewed by many as the second-best starting pitcher on the market — was re-signing with the Philadelphia Phillies. That news wasn’t particularly surprising, but the timing certainly was: it’s very rare for the big deals to happen before the Winter Meetings, which likely means that Nola had every intention of staying with the Phillies.
