The San Francisco Giants had a much-needed and much-appreciated Father’s Day win on Sunday, stopping a mini losing streak and seeing their offense break out in a 13-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. That’s good! That’s very good.
But it’s not all good. Shortly before the game started, the Giants announced that left-handed pitcher Kyle Harrison — the scheduled starter for the game — had been placed on the 15-Day Injured List, retroactive to Thursday. That’s brutal news for a team that is already dealing with the loss of Blake Snell, lost Tristan Beck in Spring Training, haven’t had the speedy recovery that once looked likely for Alex Cobb, and are still waiting on Robbie Ray.
