MLB Draft 2019: Giants select Logan Wyatt with No. 51 overall pick

SECAUCUS, N.J. -- Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi hasn't cared much about defensive positions while trying to improve the roster, mostly adding a collection of minor league outfield options in a bid to build depth and strength. His director of amateur scouting, Michael Holmes, took a similar approach in his first draft.

With their second pick, the Giants ended up with a player who might seem like he's blocked, but could end up being a key lineup piece.

Logan Wyatt, a first baseman from Louisville, was taken 51st overall on the first night of the 2019 MLB Draft on Monday.
