Mike Yastrzemski exited Thursday’s game against the San Francisco Giants and Seattle Mariners in the middle of the second inning. It wasn’t immediately known why Yastrzemski left the game, with even the broadcasters left in the dark. He didn’t appear to be in any pain, but when the bottom of the second inning rolled around, it was Luis Basabe in right field instead of Yaz.
Now we know why. The Giants announced that Yastrzemski left the game with a tight right calf.
Yaz left today's game in the bottom of the 2nd with a tight right calf.
