The San Francisco Giants are losing some quality players ahead of their four-game series with the red hot Chicago Cubs. On Thursday, just hours before the start of the series, the team announced that outfielder Mike Yastrzemski (thumb strain) and right-handed starting pitcher Logan Webb (shoulder strain) would be placed on the 10-day Injured List, marking this season’s second stint on the IL for both players.
Yastrzemski’s time on the IL is retroactive to June 2, while Webb’s is retroactive to May 31, meaning he’ll only miss one start if he’s able to return after the 10 days.
