SAN FRANCISCO – Michael Morse is a Giant again.
The hulking, 2014 postseason hero didn’t let a strained hamstring send him home, and he showed enough at Triple-A Sacramento to win a place on the roster. The club purchased Morse’s contract and he is at AT&T Park for Wednesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The team placed outfielder Denard Span on the 10-day disabled list with a sprained sternoclavicular joint. They also placed shortstop Brandon Crawford on the three-day bereavement list and recalled infielder Kelby Tomlinson from Sacramento.
Crawford, who strained his right groin in the eighth inning Tuesday night, was headed to Southern California to attend funeral services for his sister-in-law.
