Mets manager Terry Collins, who will also manage the National League in this year's MLB All-Star Game, announced that his starting pitcher Bartolo Colon will replace Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner at the Midsummer Classic.
Bumgarner is set to start the Sunday before the All-Star Game, making him ineligible to pitch in the game. He will still be a part of all the festivities in San Diego.
The Giants' ace is making his fourth straight All-Star team this year. In 18 games started, Bumgarner is 9-4 with a 2.09 ERA and has recorded 132 strikeouts in 120.
