Denny Hamlin fulfilled a lifelong dream Sunday by winning the Daytona 500, and we have the proof because his mom posted this letter that Hamlin wrote when he was in the second grade, in which he says his wish would be to win the Daytona 500, and he wanted his friends to be on his team, and for his car to look like Bill Elliott's. He said he wanted to win it in 1998, so he's a little late on reaching the goal, but we're guessing he'll still take it. Hamlin's mom showed him the letter a few days ago, and he said after the win that it was part of everything coming together at the right time.
