Mac Williamson’s homer helps Giants end 3-game skid

In an inconsistent Giants bullpen, Hunter Strickland has been one of the few bright spots. So late Wednesday night, with two runners on in the top of the ninth inning, manager Bruce Bochy called Strickland to the mound.

He forced Marco Hernandez into a groundout to cap San Francisco’s 2-1 win over the Red Sox. In the second game of a two-game series, the Giants squelched a three-game skid.

In the eighth inning, left fielder Mac Williamson belted the first pitch he saw over the outstretched glove of left fielder Chris Young for the go-ahead run.
