Lyles, Marte, González injured in Pirates' win over Giants
PITTSBURGH (AP) Jordan Lyles cruised through six innings before taking a line drive off his pitching hand, Starling Marte and Erik Gonzalez were also pulled following a collision in the field, and the short-handed Pittsburgh Pirates beat the San Francisco Giants 4-1 Friday night.
Lyles (0-2) continued his hot start, striking out six and allowing four hits while dropping his ERA to a major league-best 0.53. He was removed with a bruised right hand after being struck by Joe Panik's line drive in the sixth, through Pittsburgh turned the hot shot into an inning-ending double play.
