It seems Major League Baseball agrees with me that we should bask in the glow of the Giants’ youth movement, as Luis Matos has been named the National League Player of the Week thanks to his .385 average and 16 RBI.
It’s the first time since 2018 that a member of the San Francisco Giants has won the award. Per Alex Pavlovic:
Luis Matos is — of course — the National League Player of the Week. He’s the first Giant to win the award since Brandon Belt in 2018.

On the one hand, it’s good that Matos won the award.
