Madison Bumgarner plans to keep pitching in 2015, dadgummit, until the Giants can find someone larger and stronger to rip the ball out of his hands. As The Chronicle John Shea reported Sunday, Bumgarner said, “I want to keep throwing more innings every year, more and more innings.”
The question, then, is: When should the Giants play bad cop, drag Bumgarner from the mound (with a big cat, one presumes) and get important players such as Buster Posey and Matt Duffy off their legs?
Like everything else for the Giants late this season, reading the standings for guidance is torturous.
