SAN FRANCISCO -- Evan Longoria lost a run-scoring double by inches when a drive he hit in the first inning Sunday hooked foul. So the Giants third baseman settled for a consolation prize: a three-run homer.
The undaunted Longoria connected with the next pitch he saw from Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda and drilled it over the left-field barrier with two teammates aboard and two outs.
After a slow start, Longoria has moved into a tie for the team lead in homers with Brandon Belt (six) and tops the club with 15 RBIs.
