Longo, Panik HRs not enough in SF opener

SAN FRANCISCO -- The Seattle Mariners adjusted quickly to their surroundings Tuesday, amassing four first-inning runs en route to a 6-4 Interleague victory over San Francisco in the Giants' home opener.

Giants starter Ty Blach, who pitched five shutout innings at Los Angeles in his season-opening start, looked highly vulnerable against the Mariners. Their first six batters reached base safely -- five on singles, including Mitch Haniger's two-run hit.

Mariners lefty Marco Gonzales allowed three runs on six hits over 6 1/3 innings to pick up the win as Seattle improved to 3-1 while beginning its eight-game road trip.
