Left Field Production Has Giants Fans Ready for Melvin Upton Jr.

The San Francisco Giants are off to a rough start thus far. I don’t think they’re hitting the panic button yet, but they were quick to sign recently released outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. to a minor league deal. The Giants are already feeling the non-productive left field spot in the lineup.

Upton Jr. is a good signing, because he’s still got a lot of pop in that bat and speed in those legs. However, Upton Jr. only hit .230 in 2016, but he he did have 20 homers and 27 stolen bases.
