Leake pitches 2-hitter in win over Dodgers

SCOTTSDALE - Just kidding. We’re not really in Arizona even though Bruce Bochy drew up a lineup Wednesday night that he might as well have used in spring training.

That’s what managers do the day after their teams get eliminated from a playoff race. They stack the lineup with kids or, in this case, September call-ups, reminding fans of simpler spring days, warm desert nights and Scottsdale datelines.

In their first meaningless game of the season, the Giants beat the playoff-bound Dodgers 5-0 at AT&T Park. Mike Leake, in his final start of the season and possibly his last as a Giant, threw a two-hitter, and Nick Noonan hit his first career home run, nearly the Giants’ first splash hit of the year.
