I’m not bullish on the Giants this season.
Going into Spring Training, I was in wait-and-see mode — feeling good about the team’s offseason moves but skeptical that what they did (and the frugal manner in which they did it) would amount to serious playoff contention.
The way I saw it in early March, the Giants were going to be roughly .500 team — a 90-loss season seemed as likely as a 90-win season.
Maybe if things broke right for San Francisco, they could make the playoffs as a Wild Card — not a bad turnaround after a 98-loss year!
