Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi is a smart and affable guy. So he didn’t give much away in his end-of-season, state-of-the-franchise press conference.
But reading between the lines, there were some things that can absolutely be gleaned from Tuesday’s Q+A with the media.
Here are the five things we learned:
1. Farhan Zaidi is in full control
In prior years, this end-of-season press conference would have two, three, perhaps four chairs at the dais.
Tuesday, it was just one.
It’s been presumed since he came to the Giants — perhaps out of wishful thinking — that Zaidi runs the show, but it was evident that was the case when he sat alone on the stage Tuesday.
