To this point, media coverage of the San Francisco Giants' hire of Gabe Kapler as their new manager has been dominated by reports of him mishandling multiple sexual assault allegations while he was the director of player development for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In February, the Washington Post reported that Kapler did not contact police after learning of an alleged assault witnessed and videotaped by two Dodgers minor leaguers in early 2015. Sports Illustrated reported a few days later that in October 2015, Kapler and other Dodgers executives were notified that a player was "accused of an act of sexual violence against a woman on the housekeeping staff," but the incident was not reported to the MLB.
