The team just released Cameron Maybin this evening and Drew Ferguson yesterday, meaning there are few right-handed outfielders on the roster. Early this morning, Ken Rosenthal buried deep in a lengthy MLB News post (subscription required) that the Giants tried but failed to make a bad contract swap with the Rangers for left-handed outfielder Shin-Soo Choo earlier in the offseason.
