The Giants announced Saturday that veteran starter Johnny Cueto will make his 2019 season debut on Tuesday, September 10 against the Pirates at Oracle Park.
“I just want to say that I feel really good and I just hope that when Tuesday comes, I’m ready to do my job and do the job that I always do,” Cueto said through Spanish-language translator Erwin Higueros.
Cueto, who underwent Tommy John surgery in August, 2018, was lined up to make his first start of the season at Dodger Stadium this weekend, but the right-hander suffered a setback.
