SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.–A prospect’s first big league camp is often an overwhelming experience. The stage is bigger, the competition is better and the stakes are higher.
Joey Bart is not overwhelmed.
The Giants’ 2018 first round draft choice has just 51 minor league games under his belt, but he has wasted little time emerging as one of the early bright spots in major league camp.
In the eighth inning of the Giants’ 15-2 win over the Royals Wednesday, Bart led off with an opposite field double to right before smoking his first home run of the spring later in the frame.
