The San Francisco Giants made their third round of Major League camp cuts on Wednesday, eliminating six players from consideration for the Opening Day roster. And for the first time this spring, it included a player who seemed to have a good chance of landing on the roster when the Giants visit the Seattle Mariners on April 1.
Infielder Jason Vosler was one of two players on the 40-man roster who were optioned, joining left-handed pitcher Sam Selman. Four others were non-roster players who were reassigned: right-handed pitcher Silvino Bracho, outfielder Joe McCarthy (a 2020 Opening Day starter), right-handed pitcher Rico Garcia (who is undergoing Tommy John surgery), and recently-signed left-handed pitcher Phil Pfeifer.
