The San Francisco Giants made a flurry of moves ahead of their Friday series opener against the Atlanta Braves, as they so often do.
Most notable is that left-handed pitcher Jake McGee, who leads the team in saves with 31, was placed on the 10-day Injured List with a right oblique strain. The move is retroactive to Sept. 14.
Also leaving the roster is infielder Thairo Estrada, who was optioned to AAA Sacramento. Estrada has impressed lately, but was the result of a roster crunch.
Joining the roster are two familiar faces: infielder Donovan Solano, who was activated off of the IL, and right-handed pitcher Jay Jackson, who was recalled after being optioned just a day prior.
