After last night’s win, the Giants have won 17 of 20 games for the first time since 2001. That was the same year Barry Bonds broke the single season home run record. At this same point in the season, he was in a little bit of a home run drought, going a whole six days (July 19-25) without homering.
That homerless drought was sandwiched between a pair of two-homer games (seriously). The first one was against Mike Hampton and the second one against Curt Schilling. Fortunately for them, they were both Bonds’ first and only two-homer games against them.
