The anonymous sources battle between the San Francisco Giants and the camp of big-name free agent Corbin Burnes continues apace.
At the end of a free agency report, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand noted that the Giants aren’t too pleased with how negotiations with the 30-year-old right-hander have gone. It’s become such a problem that their eyes are supposedly shifting elsewhere.
“Sources have indicated that the Giants may be getting impatient, prompting them to consider other ways to improve the club via free agency,” Feinsand wrote Thursday.
“Even after extending Matt Chapman and signing Adames, the Giants could look to add another bat, with [Pete] Alonso, Anthony Santander, Jurickson Profar and Teoscar Hernández among the potential options,” the article continued.
