SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.–Grégor Blanco raced out of the batter’s box, blazing a trail around first base as he dug for second.
Padres’ outfielder Wil Myers corralled Blanco’s hit in the right field corner, but by then, it was too late. Blanco was on his way to third and a relay throw had no chance to beat his 34-year-old legs.
Those legs don’t look 34, though. Apparently, they don’t feel that way, either.
“Before I came I measured my 60s and I was like 6.4 (seconds),” Blanco said. “Last time I did that I was like 16 years old.
