SAN FRANCISCO — The next time Hensley Meulens interviews for a manager job, his pitch should last about six seconds. The hitting coach should walk into the room, sit down, smile — and point out that five different Giants pitchers homered in 2014.
Jake Peavy became the latest to join the club, smacking a solo shot through the mist in the fourth inning of Wednesday’s 5-3 win over the Reds. Peavy was pretty good on the mound, too, going six strong.
The Giants scored in each of the first three innings and led 3-0 when Peavy stepped up with one out in the fourth.
