Instant Replay: Giants rally falls short, lose Leake's debut

ARLINGTON, Texas — Mike Leake pitched well in his Giants debut. Unfortunately for him, the guy on the other side was historically good.

Martin Perez needed just 80 pitches to get the first 25 outs and his bullpen just barely held on as the Rangers won 2-1 at Globe Life Park. Leake took a tough-luck loss in his first game with the Giants, and the team was handed a disappointing series loss to start the season's most grueling road trip.

Leake did what he does early on. He needed just five pitches to get two quick outs on grounders in the first, and when a bloop dropped in shallow center and Adrian Beltre hit a double, Leake got out of the inning with a strikeout of Mitch Moreland.
