Instant Replay: Giants rack up 22 hits, blow out Phillies

SAN FRANCISCO — If the Dodgers swoop up Cole Hamels at a reduced price in three weeks, the Giants may come to regret hanging nine runs on the Phillies ace Friday night. As it was happening, though, this was nothing but a party.

On #PenceOnTheFence night at AT&T Park, Hunter Pence crushed a slam over the right-field fence to cap an eight-run fourth inning and the Giants set a park record with 22 hits while steamrolling the Phillies 15-2. The Giants scored the final five times they came to the plate, snapping out of a prolonged offensive slump against one of the league's best pitchers.
