SAN FRANCISCO — Joe Panik is learning a lot in his second season in the big leagues. Late Wednesday night, he learned what it’s like to be in the center of the walk-off celebration.
The second baseman hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Giants a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. After dropping nine of 10 games entering the series, the Giants have taken both against the Dodgers, guaranteeing a series victory.
Buster Posey started the winning rally with a hard single up the middle off right-hander Chris Hatcher.
