Except Zack Greinke would’ve deserved it, too. And Clayton Kershaw would’ve, too.
That’s what made this ballot one of the toughest I’ve ever been tasked to cast in my years as a member of the BBWAA. People kept telling me, “You can’t go wrong with any of the three.” Except that also made it impossible to get it right.
In the end, I didn’t vote for Arrieta. But I had a hunch my ballot would favor that result.
