SAN DIEGO -- Hunter Pence's first rehab game for Triple-A Sacramento was cut short Saturday night.
Pence grabbed at his right leg after reaching first base on a single in the third inning. He was replaced by pinch-runner Ryan Lollis. Pence was supposed to play five innings Saturday and five more Sunday in his first action following hamstring surgery.
The Giants did not have an immediate update on Pence since the play happened in Round Rock, Texas just a few minutes before the team took the field at Petco Park. A Twitter video shows Pence jogging down to first and then reaching down to rub his leg at the same spot where a torn hamstring tendon was removed on June 9.
